Salvation
Salvation is the means by which we are delivered from our sins. Salvation is a gift from a loving and gracious God. We cannot do anything in our own power to earn it, we receive it by grace. We are instructed in Romans 10:9: “If you confess with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For it is with the heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you confess and are saved.”
Church membership is not salvation but should be a natural result of salvation. Salvation changes the heart, the mind, and every part of a person. We become new creatures in Christ Jesus (2 Corinthians 5:17). We need not worry about being good enough to be saved, because a person never reaches that degree of excellence. Every person comes to saving grace in the same way “all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God” (Romans 3:23).
Salvation crosses all denominational, ethic, economical, gender, racial, therefore, no religious group of the Christian faith can claim a monopoly on salvation. “For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved” (Romans 10:13). Christians are saved through faith in Jesus Christ.

Key themes in salvation:
Believe - Believe that God loves you and wants you to have an abundant life. “For God so loved the world that he gave His one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.” (John 3:16) “I have come that they may have life and have it to the full.” (John 10:10)
Turn – Turn from sin and turn to God. We are required to admit our sin and turn away from it. “The wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.” (Romans 6:23)
Look – Look to Jesus Christ as the only provision for the forgiveness of sin. Jesus is the only way to salvation. Being saved is not a gift or reward for doing good works, we cannot take credit for it. “For it is by grace you have been saved through faith – and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God’s workmanship, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.” (Ephesians 2:10)
Trust - Trust and ask Jesus Christ to come into your life and make it complete. By faith, receive Him as your personal Savior. “Yet to all who received him (Jesus Christ), to those who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God – children born not of natural descent, nor of human decision or a husband’s will, but born of God. (John 1:12-13)

Prayer of Salvation
Dear Lord God, I come today confessing that I am a sinner. Please forgive me of my sins, both known and unknown; cleanse me from all unrighteousness. Come into my heart and take control of my life. I receive your Son, Jesus Christ, as my personal savior and as Lord of my life. Thank you for giving your only Son to die on the cross for me and for forgiving me of my sins. I pray this prayer in the name of Jesus. Amen.
